Norma Jean Gray (Scheidt)

Age 85 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2019 at her home.

Born October 5, 1933 in Joliet, Norma Jean was the daughter of Charles and Helen (Kuban) Scheidt. She was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Central High School with the class of 1951. Norma was an avid bingo player and devoted Chicago White Sox fan. She loved working her puzzle books, and watching old movies on the Turner Classics channel. Norma was also a big fan of Lawrence Welk, Wheel of Fortune, Law and Order and music from the 40s and 50s. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her children: Matthew (Patricia) Gray and Dawn Gray; brother: Charles (Rose) Scheidt; two godsons: Rick and Stephen Scheidt; grand pups: Tanner and Ariel, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; children: Tommy and Timmy Gray; parents: Helen and Charles Scheidt, and brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard (Georgia) Scheidt, Bill (Inez) Scheidt and Don (Marie) Scheidt.

Per Norma’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends and relatives for a memorial visitation on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1:30 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.
