Nancy Lou Campbell (nee Carver), age 78, at rest on Friday, November 25, 2016.
Nancy is survived by her 6 loving children, Richard L. (Anita) Campbell Jr., Cathy L. (Robert) Downey, Kimberly J. Campbell, Sue E. (Daniel) Menegon, Tracy L. (Claude) Holifield and Lori Campbell; 7 grandchildren, John, Kelsey, Jacob, Joshua, Erin, Amy, and Matthew; sister, Mary Ellen (John) O’ Dougherty; Half-brother, Kevin Carver; half-sister, Jain Carver; brother-in-law, James (Beth) Campbell; sister-in-law, Linda (Jerry) Rogers; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard L. Campbell Sr. (2011); parents; Otis Carver and Marion Mikko; half-brothers, George Upright and Bradley Carver.
Nancy was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Joliet. Nancy worked for School District 86 for several years and went on to work for St. Joseph Medical Center as well. Nancy was also a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, an avid animal lover and a diehard Michigan State fan. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s name to the Special Olympics or the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will begin on Monday, November 28, 2016 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service to be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Lora Zink officiating. Per Nancy’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
