Mildred A??MillieA?i M. Rydman

Millie was called home to Heaven, peacefully, on Sunday morning March 4, 2012, at the age of 93. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Millie was born in Joliet on October 22, 1918, and was a lifelong resident. Before raising her family, she was the owner of the Bluebird Coffee Shop on Ottawa Street and also on Chicago Street in downtown Joliet. She enjoyed raising her sons and was a good Christian woman, devoted to her family and always helping whenever and wherever needed. Longtime member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. Millie retired from the Will County TreasurerA??s Office in 1980 and began work at the office of her youngest son, George E. Rydman and Associates. She truly enjoyed the busy office life and made many friends during her many years there, retiring again in 2006.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband John E. Rydman; her beloved son Dr. Robert J. Rydman; her parents, Rade and Sophie Ostoich; sisters Mary Ostoich, Helen Schusner and Patricia Bakke; brothers Nicholas Ostoich, Paul Ostoich and George Ostoich.

Millie is survived by her devoted son, George E. Rydman; daughter Jacquie (Roger) Habenicht; her five grandchildren, Estlin, Lynne, Jill, Grace and Jack; and her sister Bertha OA??Brien. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Special thanks to her devoted caregivers, Arta, Roma, Lina, Beata and Anna (decA??d 2012), and the staff at Joliet Area Community Hospice. Millie was a wonderful wife, mother and friend, and she will truly be missed by her family and friends. We were blessed to have her in our lives.

Funeral services for Millie Rydman will begin on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from the funeral home chapel at 9:30 am to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church for a 10:00 am service.
