Mike Mitok

Mike Mitok, a beloved husband, father, and master mechanic, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Joliet, IL, on September 20, 2023. Born on July 26, 1966, to Rick and Patsy Mitok, Mike was known for his wisdom, humor, and loving nature.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (nee Ancel), his son, Zachary Mitok, and his stepdaughter, Jamie (Dinah Off) Eskridge. His parents, Rick and Patsy Mitok, and numerous cousins also survive him.

Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John R. Mitok Sr. and Grace (Scott) Mitok, and his maternal grandparents, Harvey E. and Dorothy (nee Malnar) Richards.

Mike began his career as a machinist at Hendrickson Stamping, where he honed his skills and developed a reputation for his meticulous work. His mechanical expertise led him to a position at Atlas, where he served as a trusted mechanic. Mike's leadership abilities were recognized when he was appointed as a manager at Guildhaus. His final professional role was in maintenance at Target, where he continued to demonstrate his dedication and hard work.

Mike's interests extended beyond his work. He was a loving father and a devoted husband, always putting his family first. His love for music was evident in his passion for playing the guitar.

Those who knew Mike will remember him as a wise man who always had a piece of advice to share. His sense of humor was infectious, often lightening the mood and bringing smiles to those around him.

Mike Mitok's life was a testament to his dedication to his family, his passion for his work, and his love for music. His memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Per Mike’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. The family encourages casual attire for those in attendance.
