Michael Byers McCoy

Michael Byers McCoy, age 65, passed suddenly on Sunday, May 3, 2015.
Michael is survived by his loving children, Kerri (Robert) Gregurich and Michael (Deanne) McCoy; cherished grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth and Thomas Robert Gregurich; three dear siblings, Patrick (Genese) McCoy Jr., Marianne (John) Seguin, and William (Suzanne) McCoy; nieces and nephews, Kelli Nelmark, Tony and Kathryn McCoy.
Preceded in death by his parents, Francis Patrick and Elizabeth J. (nee Byers) McCoy; Step-father, Herman McGrady; and nephew, Jeffery McCoy.
Michael was an exceptional father who always put his children before himself. He gracefully fought and won two battles with cancer. He served in the Air Force during Vietnam. Michael was also an avid sports fan and statistician.
Donations may be made in Michael's name to the American Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Michael's life will begin on Friday, May 8, 2015 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Joliet. Family and friends to meet at church. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 7, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
