Michael L. Ambrozich

Michael A�??MikeA�?i�� L. Ambrozich, age 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 1, 2012, after a 3 month battle with cancer.

Survived by his loving daughters, Patricia (Terry) Lohr of Sauk City, WI, Deborah (Greg) Meyers of Midland, MI, and Sharon (Ron) Olson of Nanoose Bay, BC; grandchildren Christina Zivec, Ken (Cheryl) Olson, and Sheila (Patrick) Baier; great-grandchildren Colin and Steven Olson, and Jeremy and Jenna Baier; and his sisters-in-law Dolores M. (late Joseph, a brother) Ambrozich and Dolores L. (late Edward, a brother) Ambrozich. He was survived by his uncle, Bill Skoff, and wife Judy, who were very good friends since childhood. Mike and Bill spent many happy hours hunting together.

Preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Smith), his wife Margaret (Hill), his parents, Joseph and Mary Ambrozich, a sister, Marian Ambrozich, and two brothers, Joseph and Edward.

Michael was a lifelong resident of Joliet, and graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1942. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Mike started his career as an electrician at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant, and after more than 40 years of service, he retired as the manager of all trades people. Michael cherished his time, including bingo, with his good friends of many years, Phil and Antoinette (Toni) Majerczyk. He was very accomplished at making ceramics and antique reproduction porcelain dolls. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Walsh (Pulmonologist-Joliet) for his expertise and compassion, Dr. Gregory Motl (Madison) for his excellent care and kindness, and Agrace Hospice team: Stephanie, Rebecca, Annette, Patti, Lori and Debra, for their kind, compassionate care. We also appreciate all the help from our Joliet family during this time.

A Celebration of Michael's life will be held on Friday, January 6, with visitation at TezakA�??s Home to Celebrate Life at 10:00 am until the time of prayers at 11:30 am then procession to St. Joseph Cemetery for a committal service with military honors.
