MeriKay Kelley of Ludington Michigan, formerly of New Lenox, Illinois, died peacefully on May 24th, 2017. Born September 29, 1940 in Rock Island, Illinois, she is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Kelley and Mary Jo (Kenneth) Miller.
MeriKay was an assembly worker at Borg Warner for over 20 years, a welder, caregiver, and insurance salesperson. Previously, she was a homemaker for 15 years. Meri had many interests over the years and most recently received great joy in watching the bison at the Midewin Preserve. She was well loved by her family and friends and will be missed dearly.
Survivors include a daughter Kim (Michael) Illarde and son Clay (Paula Wallrich) Hosh; brothers, David (Patricia) Kelley (deceased), Kevin (Debby) Kelley, and sister Carol (Rich) Winters; Mary is also survived by several grandchildren including Khyle Hosh, Cambria and Amelia Wallrich, John, Matthew, and Amy Illarde; and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Simon’s Church in Ludington, Michigan on May 31st at 1 p.m. followed by a short ceremony at Lakeview Cemetery.
