Matthew J. Baron
October 10, 1930 — December 10, 2013
Matthew J. Baron, age 83, entered eternal life after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 with his loving family by his side.
Matthew is survived by his loving sons, John S. (Kim) Baron and Nicholas Baron; cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Baron-Gifford and Jason Baron; and great-grandchildren, Annie Baron and Alex Gifford; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Florence L. Baron; and son, Terry J. (Penny) Baron.
Matthew was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Navy. He loved to travel and camp, trekking across 48 states and all the southern provinces of Canada. He was an avid fisherman and Blackhawks fan. He volunteered his many services to the Annunciation Byzantine Catholic Church of Homer Glenn, a place which he cared so much about. Matthew will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
A Celebration of Matthew's life will begin on Friday, December 13, 2013 with a Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the chapel service to take place at 11:00 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet.
