Mathilda A. A�??TillieA�?i�� Hankovcak (nee Wicevic), age 90, went to be with the Lord after a long battle with dementia on Monday, February 11, 2013.
Survived by her two daughters Patricia (Dave) Morelli and Geradette (John) Russ; one son John (Cynthia) Hankovcak; six grandchildren Maureen (James) Trizna, Denise (Thomas) Bell, John J. Russ, Scott J. Russ, Megan Hankovcak, and Caitlin Hankovcak; four great-grandchildren Adriana and Matthew Trizna, Rachel and Ryan Bell; one sister Marie Pilon; and one brother Lawrence (late Connie) Wicevic; her loving caregiver Yana Georgieva; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her parents Rose (nee Malnar) and Lawerence Wicevic; her beloved husband of 34 years, John R. Hankovcak; one daughter Denise Hankovcak (in infancy), two sisters Vera (John) Senffner and Josephine (Victor) Wicevic; and one cousin Edward Malnar.
Mathilda was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary Nativity Church, Altar and Rosary Society, and a member of the Joannites. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and playing the organ. Tillie lived life to the fullest and really enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Tillie will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in MathildaA�??s name may be made to St. Mary Nativity Church in Joliet, or the Joliet Area Community Hospice.
A Celebration of MathildaA�??s life will begin on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. with prayers at the funeral home chapel then moving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at TezakA�??s Home to Celebrate Life.
