Maryrose was a lifelong resident of Rockdale. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and longtime member of the Catholic Women’s Club where she was active with various fundraisers, growth activities, and improvements for the church (including being CCW Woman of the Year 2012). She was a passionate roller-skater in her early years, being at the roller rink whenever possible. She began her career as a beautician at the Mary Finucan Salon, afterwards providing beauty and haircare services from her home. Throughout her life she most loved cooking and providing for family and friends; she enjoyed the challenges and excitement of bingo, video poker and games; caring for and playing with her kitty “Schweinhund;” attending innumerable grandchildren/great-grandchildren activities and sporting events and following the White Sox and Blackhawks games. Maryrose was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family offers a special thank you to all the loving people who were close to and cared for Mom (especially nieces Marlene and Donna and their families, close friends Jeannie Pavnica and Anita Goss, and favorite doctor Phil Serna) over the years.
A celebration of Maryrose’s life will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Church of St. Jude in Joliet. The family invites relatives and friends to join them for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Joliet.
