Maryanne Skole (nee Jankowski)
Age 67 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital with her family by her side.
Born August 30, 1955 in Joliet, Maryanne was a daughter of Edward, Josephine and Geraldine Jankowski. She was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from St. Francis Academy with the class of 1973. Following graduation, Maryanne found herself working in the medical billing field and made a career out of it for over thirty years until retiring in 2018. During that time, she met the love of her life and would go on to marry her best friend, Sonny Skole in St. Thaddeus Catholic Church. Together they made a home and raised their family.
Maryanne was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet. She was always the gracious host and would love having friends and family over, whether it was for a pool party or for the holidays. You could find her cheering on Notre Dame Football in the fall and Chicago White Sox baseball during the summer. Maryanne just loved a good game no matter what sport. In her free time she enjoyed working in her yard and planting flowers for all to admire. She was a member of the Croatian Club in Joliet as well as a part of the athletic board for St. Joseph School. After retirement, Maryanne and Sonny enjoyed numerous bus trips to area casinos and going on fishing trips up north. Her most treasured times were always spent with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Sonny Skole; children: Sunianne (Jimmy) Pasdertz and Matt Skole (Ashley Boyd); grandson: Hunter Blank; siblings: Raymond (Ruth) Jankowski, Leonard (Edith) Jankowski, Fr. Jim Jankowski, Dick Luzbetak and Barbie Morris; sisters-in-law: Barb (Ed) Mucha and Diane Swanson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
