Mary Ann “Marion” Jaworski (nee Hazer), age 97, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2023 with her loving family by her side.
Born to George and Anna (Videtich) Hazer on December 1, 1925, she resided in Joliet until moving to Shorewood 17 years ago.
After graduating from Joliet Central High School, Marion started her journey as a secretary at Electro Motive.
She met and married Joseph Jaworski, the love of her life, and together they raised 3 children. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker and caring for the family. In later years she was employed by Joliet West High School and the Joliet Township Assessor's Office, retiring in 1994. After retirement she enjoyed shopping for bargains, home cooked meals, listening to the music of her generation, working crossword puzzles daily and spending time with her family.
Marion was blessed with a large, loving family. She is survived by her dedicated children and their spouses: Mary Jo (Ken) Sarata, Paul (Mary) Jaworski and Jeff (Dee) Jaworski;11 wonderful grandchildren: Michael (Angela) Jaworski, Katie Jaworski, Kristen (Clayton) Stuckwisch, Nick (Anna) Jaworski, Andrew (Laura) Sarata, Sarah (Matt) Flentge, Peter (Jessica) Sarata, Joseph Jaworski, Jake (Keri) Jaworski, J.P. (Stacey) Jaworski and Jonathan Jaworski; 26 beautiful great-grandchildren: Lexi, Jade and Michael Jaworski, Grace, Jackson, Maggie and Parker Toole, Kayleigh and Colin Stuckwisch, Charlie, Reagan and McKenna Jaworski, Madelyn, Emily and Lillian Sarata, Mia and Elaina Flentge, Seth and Quinn Sarata, Jack, Elle, Drew and Bobby Jaworski, Cam, Peyton and Theo Jaworski.
Also survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Jaworski; cousin, Mary Lou Drysch and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph P. Jaworski in 1975; great-granddaughter, Cami Stuckwisch; brother George (late Dorothy) Hazer; sister Rita (late LeRoy) Book; brothers-in-law, John Jaworski, Alex Jaworski and Robert Wicevic; sisters-in-law, Mary Wicevic and Dorothy Bucciarelli.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
A celebration of Marion’s life will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 with a visitation at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Ave, Joliet, IL 60435 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.
