Mary L. Starasinic

Age 88 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2022 with her loving family at her side.

Born August 22, 1934 in Steger, Illinois. Mary moved to the Joliet area after marrying the love of her life, Joseph R. Starasinic. She enjoyed taking road trips with Joe, going on family vacations, relaxing with a crossword puzzle, playing games, listening to her favorite music and watching the Hallmark Channel. Mary’s most treasured times were always when she was with Joe, her family and especially her dear granddaughter, Laura. She was considered a sweetheart by all who knew her and will be truly missed.

Mary is survived by her three children: Carol (Daniel) Rohr, Patricia (Gordie, Jr.) Gillespie and Michael (Judy) Starasinic; her granddaughter: Laura Gillespie; special friend: Shirley Panish, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joe, who passed away in 2015, and her parents: Helen and Raymond Wolf.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 416 N Chicago Street in Joliet. A private interment will follow and Mary will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet.
