Mary Ann McGann

Mary Ann McGann, (nee Kachelhoffer), age 76, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.

Loving mother of Patti (John) D'Ambrose, Bridget (fiancAC. Jeff Curran) McGann, Mike (Tami) McGann, Danny McGann, David McGann and Katie (Kevin) Zihlman; dear grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of two; and sister of Audrey Kachelhoffer.

Preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. McGann (2013); parents, John Elmer and Anna (nee Boyd) Kachelhoffer.

Mary Ann attended St. John Catholic Grade School and St. Francis Academy. She then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from the University of St. Francis. A longtime Joliet resident, Mary Ann stayed in touch with many of her friends from school. She was actively involved in volunteering with the PTA at her children's school. Mary Ann was an active parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill, serving in many ministries of the parish.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary Ann's name to Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 or Gift of Hope, 425 Spring Lake Dr. Itasca, IL 60143 would be appreciated.

The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to all of the relatives and friends who have kept mom in your prayers.

A Celebration of Mary Ann's life will begin on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 with a visitation at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Crest Hill from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Mary Ann will be laid to rest with her husband Donald at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 5-8 p.m.
