Mary Ann (Carroll) Hohenwater

January 14, 1943 — March 11, 2018

Mary Ann Hohenwater (nee Carroll), age 75, born into eternal life on Sunday, March 11, 2018.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving sons, George F. (Diane), Todd (Raeann), Robert, and Greg (Karen) Hohenwater; loving daughter, Sandra (Artie) DeMaso; cherished grandchildren, Brett and Scott, George, Lillian and Breanne, Mackenzie, Jack and Alaina, Chloe, Gwendolyn, Gianna, Tiana and Keith; cherished great-granddaughter, Kylie McHale; siblings, Sue (Art) Rambo, Jackie (Mick) Taylor, Jayne (Tom) Naughton, John (Linda) Carroll and Nancy (Tim) Kinsley; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, George T. Hohenwater (2014); son, Bret T. Hohenwater; parents, John and Margaret (nee Fonck) Carroll; and sister, Margaret “Peggy” Carroll.

Mary Ann had a great passion for crafting. From the crafts that she so greatly enjoyed, Mary Ann evolved a silk florist business and later in life became a ceramics teacher in Arizona. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the excellent staff at Rock Run Place in Joliet and Great Lakes Hospice for the wonderful compassion and care provided to Mary Ann.

A celebration of Mary Ann’s life will begin on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 11:30 a.m. until prayers in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 p.m. then driving in procession to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Joliet.
