Mary Joyce Curbis (Wolf)
Age 77 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Born on September 18, 1943 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mary was a daughter of Leo J. and Helen (Hare) Wolf.
At a very young age, Mary’s family moved to Joliet, and she remained a lifelong resident. Mary was a proud graduate of St. Francis Academy, class of 1961. After highschool, she went to school earning her beauticians license. Shortly after, Mary met the love of her life, Frank Curbis and they were married in Yorkville, spending 53 amazing years together. She loved flowers, gardening, and taking care of everyone with her love and compassion. Mary was truly the rock of her family, placing everyone’s needs before her own.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving grandparents: Willomena and Henry Hare, parents: Leo J. and Helen Wolf, aunts: Anna “Midge” Hare and Eileen “Bunny” Scherle, and uncles” George Hare, Phillip Hare and Clifford Hare.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband: Frank Curbis; her beloved sons: John E. (Robyn) Curbis and Michael A. (Joy) Curbis; grandchildren: Jordan (Laura) Bruyn, Frank Curbis, John Curbis, Caelyn Curbis, Kayla Curbis, Jenna Curbis, and Maggie Curbis; great grandchildren: Quinn and Regan Bruyn; one sister: Prudence (Henry) Setina; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Mary’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
