Mary Ann Carroll (nee Stasko), age 78, of Lockport, IL passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, January 12, 2014. Mary Ann was born on January 6, 1936 in Joliet, IL to Albert and Francis Stasko.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Frank R. Carroll; five devoted sons, Frank III, David Sr. (Mary Jo), John (Beth), Daniel (Stacy) of Florida, and Jeffrey (Amy); her precious grandchildren, Lindsey, Frank IV, Nathan, Caitlin, David Jr., Andrew, Rebecca, Matthew, Mark, John, Kathryn, Ellen, Connery, Courtnie, Jessica, Chloe, Simone; eight cherished great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Mae Ojeda; brother, James (Connie) Stasko; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and dear friend Judy Philbert.
Preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Francis (nee Videtich) Stasko; grandson, John Michael Carroll; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Mary Ann Stasko; and sister, Therese Giuliani (nee Stasko).
Mary Ann was a graduate of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Grade School and St. Francis Academy. She worked for many years as a hair stylist.
Mary Ann met Frank at the age of 14 and they were married four years later on February 20, 1954 at Fort Leonard Wood Hospital Chapel in Missouri. They were planning their 60th wedding anniversary next month.
Mary Ann was dedicated to her Catholic faith with a special devotion to Our Blessed Virgin Mary. She was loving, kind, and devoted to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
In lieu of flowers and donations, masses may be offered in Mary Ann's name to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet.
A Celebration of Mary Ann's life will begin on Thursday, January 16, 2014 with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be no visitation or services held at the funeral home.
