Mary A. Cady (nee Kovacevich), age 98, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was a loving mother to her children, Eugene Cady and Rosemary (Anthony) Frangella; beloved grandmother to Craig A. Cady; mother-in-law to Francine Cady; one niece and numerous nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her husband, Homer Cady; parents, Jack and Mary (nee Pesut) Kovacevich; siblings, Peter (Ann) Kovacevich, Louis Kovacevich, Eva (Andrew) Grahovac and Amanda (Elmer) Flaynik; and one niece Mary Kay Berry.
Mary was born in DeKalb and resided in Joliet for most of her life. She retired from Gerlach-Barklow Company and Provena St. Joseph Medical Center as a television hostess. Mary was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Organization at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church and loved to crochet and knit. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother who always made herself available to help her family and friends in any way she could.
In lieu of flowers donations in Mary's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 850 Essington Road, Suite 200 Joliet, IL 60435.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Passages Hospice and the numerous caregivers that provided comfort to Mary.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church on Saturday, October 26, 2013 for a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. There will be no funeral home visitation. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Cemetery in Crest Hill. Per Mary's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
