Age 75 of Elgin, Illinois, eternally reunited with her beloved husband, Ronald G. Becker, on October 15, 2014, after a heroic battle with cancer.
Born on July 5, 1939 in Chicago, IL, a much loved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.
Mary Ellen is survived by her children, Daniel (Lynn) Becker, Stephen (Kim) Becker,
Ronald (Ortencia) Becker, Michael Becker, Joan (Michael) Stefka
Kathleen (Edward) Harkins, Mary Becker, Ted (Michelle) Becker, and
John (Rachael) Becker; twenty-two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Byron (nee O'toole).
Our Mother was cherished for her kindness and her unconditional love for her family. Mom loved all of nature and enjoyed watching wildlife, especially birds.
A Celebration of Mary Ellen's life will begin on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 1214 Hamilton St, Lockport, IL 60441. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803. Visitation will be Monday, October 20, 2014, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
