Mary E. Anzelc (nee Plut)

Mary, 85, was born January 5, 1924 and passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009. Survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John R. Anzelc (married December 27, 1947); children Raymond, John (Linda), Mary Ellen, Janet (Larry) Orr and Michael (Kathleen); grandchildren Erin (Nick Wildman) Burke, Michael Burke, Molly and Lauren; great-granddaughter June Katherine Wildman; siblings Jennie (late Frank) Priyatel, Alex (Dolores) Plut and Bernadine (late Paul) Madronich. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Preceded in death by her parents Alex and Jennie (nee Turk) Plut; siblings Joseph (late Mary), Frank (late Sophie), Anthony, Albin (late Helen), Stanley, John (Betty), Bernard (Eileen), Robert (Patricia) Plut and Mildred (late William) Zugel. Mary was proud of her Slovenian heritage. She was a member of the St. Joseph"s Rosarians, Altar and Rosary Society, Slovenian Women"s Union, KSKJ, VFW Women"s Auxiliary and Joliet Catholic High School Mother"s Club. She will be fondly remembered for her practical jokes, love of polka music, strong spirit, devotion to her family and her delicious banana cake. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Loyalton of Joliet for all their care and compassion throughout Mary"s stay. Visitation will be on Monday, August 24, 2009 at the funeral home, beginning at 9:00 AM. A Prayer Service will be held at 10:30 AM to St. Joseph"s Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
