Martin Paul Uremovic, age 94, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at his residence in Joliet. Born in Rockdale on November 20, 1923. Martin graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1942. He served in the United States Army during World War II. In June 1947 he married Mary Rose Frankovich of Joliet. He retired from Commonwealth Edison in 1984.
Martin is survived by his daughters, Paula (John) Laskowski and Norma (John) Vilutis; he is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Rose Uremovic; parents, Anthony and Mary (nee Hartel) Uremovic; four sons, a daughter, a grandson and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Martin’s name either to St. Joseph Church in Joliet or the Salvation Army.
A celebration of Martin’s life will begin on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet.
