Mark is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marian (nee Zelko); children, Heidi (Scott) Domark and Susie (Mark) Scheuber; grandchildren, Hannah and Hayley Domark, Katie and Maddie Scheuber; sisters, Margie (Mike) Corcoran, Anne (Chuck) Sartorelli, Mary (Mike) Burke; and lifelong friend, Jim Kinsella.
Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Louise Schoener; brother, Frank Schoener.
Mark was born in Yugoslavia and came to the United States in 1949. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School. He was the Director of Central Medical Lab for 30 years. Mark’s grandchildren were a very important part of his life and he enjoyed spending every minute he could with them. He was an avid boater; he also enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, attending JCA football games, riding his motorcycle and flying planes. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be truly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark’s name to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet or Joliet Area Community Hospice Home would be appreciated.
A celebration of Mark’s life will begin on Thursday, April 20, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
