Marjorie (Conklin) Papesh

June 9, 1934 — October 1, 2021

Marjorie (nee Conklin) Papesh, age 87, of Wilmington died peacefully on October 1, 2021.

Marge retired from the banking industry as a loan officer at Numark Credit Union where she prided herself in helping members improve their lives.  Her greatest passion was providing for family and friends.  She was an avid gardener who shared an abundance of love through homegrown vegetables.   Holiday gatherings were especially memorable to her family and friends for hand-crafted meals topped off with her famous homemade apple pie. She loved having the ability to teach her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren her art. Marge treasured traveling. She loved experiencing the wonderous places our world has to offer. A few of her favorites were Door County in Wisconsin, Hawaii and a cruise to Alaska. Other hobbies Marge enjoyed, and excelled at, were interior decorating, crafts, and sewing. She loved completing the holiday experience with homemade crafts to complete the feeling of each season.

As one of nine children, Marge was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mary Conklin; siblings Alma Stevens, Howard Conklin, Dorothy Mooneyham, Donald Conklin, Margaret Smith, Harry Conklin; and great-granddaughter Victoria Faith Loyer.

Marge is survived by her husband of 65 years, Raymond Papesh, children Brian (Deborah) Papesh of Dublin Ohio, Bethany (Samuel, Jr.) Chirich of Decatur, her grandchildren Ashley (Alexander) Place, Kathryn (Hannah) Papesh, Megan (Brandon) Loyer, Tyler Chirich, her great-grandchildren Alexander, Chase, and Miles Loyer, Jaxon and Mason Place, her sisters June Chewning, Catherine Henderson, and honorary sister Judith (Henry) Philbert, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
