Marie Scheidt

Marie Scheidt (nee Popek) Age 85, at rest on Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her sons, Robert (Patricia K.), William (Patricia A.), James (Beverly) and Richard Scheidt; grandchildren, Beth (Rich) Kelch, Brian, Katherine, Karen (Doug) Blunk, Tony and Tom; and Dan Scheidt; great-grandchildren, Nick and Julia Kelch and Leah Blunk; two sisters Helen (late Victor) Benac and Joan (Arthur) Krieger; and one sister-in-law, Virginia (late Tom) Popek. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially Richard Pemble. Preceded in death by her husband Frank Scheidt; grandson Steven Michael Scheidt; three brothers Thomas (Virginia), Raymond (late Josephine) and Anton Popek; her parents Anton and Mary Popek. Member of the Slovenian Women's Union (Woman of the Year, 1991), and its former National Championship Drill Team, the Rosarian Club and KSKJ. Lifetime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet. In lieu of flowers donations in Marie's name to the St. Joseph School Foundation or to the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.

From where services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 9:30 AM to St. Joseph Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-7 PM.
