Marian J. Banks (nee Klenz) age 89, at rest on Thursday, December 11, 2014.

Marian is survived by her loving children, Barbara Bartels, Gerald (Teresa), and Larry (Dawn) Banks; grandchildren, Diana (James) Brandt, Jeanne (Richard) Webber, Theresa Bartels, Carrie (Michael) Stirratt, Anthony (Mariah) Banks, Weston Banks, Nathanial Banks, Michael (Erin) Malik, Matthew (Yuko) Malik, Scott Banks and Melanie; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-granddaughters; one sister, Kathryn (the late Frank) Polka; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and longtime companion, Gizmo.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Banks; one daughter in infancy, Geraldine Banks; parents, Elsie and Friedrich Klenz; siblings, Franklin (Vera) Klenz, Evelyn (Albert) Montacelli, Dorothy (Joseph) Lamberta, Eleanor (Frank) Misischia, and Edith (Nofrio) Ficarello.

Marian was born and raised on her family farm in Peotone, IL. She loved music, played the piano, and tap danced. She also loved to cook, sew and bake. Marian was a strong, independent woman who loved to care for her family. She will be dearly missed.

A special thank you to Diana and Carrie for the loving care provided to grandma.

A celebration of Marian's life will begin on Monday, December 15, 2014 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 10:20 a.m. then driving in procession to Holy Cross Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Per Marian's wishes cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL from 2-6 p.m.
