Marguerite F. Zlogar-Nelson (nee Zlogar) born in Joliet, IL on October 13, 1944. Passed away at home on March 21, 2024, after a brave fight with cancer.
“Margie” was retired from D’Arcy Hyundai in Joliet, a job she truly treasured with colleagues she loved. She was a graduate of JJC with her Associates Degree in Accounting. Margie was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity Church in Joliet. She loved theatre, British murder mysteries, and being annoyed with Wheel of Fortune and Food Network. She loved traveling the world to all the places her daughter insisted she visit, including Croatia and Slovenia, which was life changing.
Left to tell the stories and legends are her daughter Julie, her beloved nieces Laura (Zlogar) Gillogly, Lisa (Zlogar) Blair, Michelle (Zlogar) Oberholtzer, Minnette (Zlogar) Leoni, Lizette (Zlogar) Kalis, Elizabeth (Clarke) Ratajczyk, Mary Clarke, and Ann Clarke along with sisters-in- law and brother-in-law and many other great nieces and nephews and beloved cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents Albin C and Margaret (Plese) Zlogar, her brothers Albin B. and James P. Zlogar, and her sister and best friend Lucille A. (Zlogar) Clarke.
As per Marguerite’s wishes her body was donated to Anatomical Gift.
The family will hold a memorial service at Tezak’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations to Lightways Hospice, The Megan Bugg Global Rhabdomyosarcoma Research Laboratory, or any other organization. Or plant a tree, just not a hackberry, because they annoyed her.
