Marguerite P Moon
February 20, 1943 — June 16, 2011
Marguerite P. Moon, nee Skiera, age 68, a lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side after a short courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday June 16, 2011. Marguerite"s greatest joy in life was sharing time with her family.
Survived by her loving husband and best friend of 50 years, Bob Moon; three children Kathy Moon, Bob (Chris) Moon and Frank (Becky) Moon; two grandchildren Wes and Eric Moon; one step-grandchild Melanie (Ryan) Choate; one great-grandchild Addison Choate and a niece Julie Skiera. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her parents Mary nee Chopp and Frank Skiera and a sister Mary Ann Skiera.
Marguerite was an avid Cubs fan. Her hobbies included cross-stitch and fishing. A special thanks to Joliet Hospice for their wonderful support and care during her last days.
A Celebration of Marguerite"s life will begin with prayers at 9:30 am on Tuesday, June 21, at the funeral home chapel, then in procession to Holy Cross Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 pm.
