Margaret C. (Partak) Masura, age 88 years, at rest peacefully in her home on June 24, 2017 surrounded by her loving children.

Margie lived in Joliet and was a member of S.S. Cyril and Methodius Church her entire life being proud of her Slovak heritage. She was born to Andrew and Cecelia (Bakos) Partak on June 10, 1929 and married her true love and the “boy next door,” Ladislaus Masura, on May 6, 1950. During her life she lovingly and tirelessly cared for her family. She attended S.S. Cyril & Methodius Grade School, St. Francis Academy and the College of St. Frances. She worked as lab technician for St. Joseph’s Hospital for 5 years and was a Phlebotomist for Central Lab for 17 years. Margie loved her work and was one of the best in her field. She was always called upon for the most difficult of draws and was especially aware of being gentle and compassionate with elderly patients. Margie was also the last remaining member of “Club31” - a monthly card club comprised of childhood friends.

Survived by her loving and devoted children, Stephen (Judy) Masura, Margaret (the late Robert) Briski, Monica (Edward) Draksler and Andrew Masura - her primary caregiver; precious grandchildren, Stephanie Masura, Sara (Daniel) Koester, Douglas Masura. Robert (Lindsay) Briski, Daniel Briski, Christine (Matthew) Brennan, Kate (fiancé Jason Weeks) Draksler and Ann Draksler; adored great-grandchildren, Audrey & Brent Briski, Moira Koester, and Cecelia & Colton Brennan; sister, Lorraine (late Leo) Gard; sister-in-law, Anna Mae (late Thomas) Kelly; brother-in-law, Joseph (Helen) Masura; uncles, John (late Sue) Matejcak, Anthony (Shirley) Matejcak, Andrew (Mary Evelyn) Matejcak, and the late John and Ann Matejcak; also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Ladislaus J, Masura (1985); son-in-law, Robert Briski, parents, Andrew and Cecelia Partak; and in-laws Stephen and Anna Masura.

Margie was an avid reader - always keeping up with current events. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and the History Channel. She will be remembered for being a happy person by nature and having a zest for life especially enjoying the holidays. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an inspiration of courage and strength; instilling in us her Catholic faith, laughter, love and devotion. She will be deeply and dearly missed.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Joliet Hospice especially her nurse Jennifer for her kindness and care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Discalced Friars of Holy Hill (1525 Carmel Road, Hubertus, Wisconsin) or Joliet Area Community Hospice.
