Margaret “Peg” Baran (nee Kimak) passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the age of 91.
Margaret is survived by her loving daughter, Carol Baran, along with numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Vasil and Mary (nee Patrick) Kimak; her husband: Stephan Baran; one daughter: Margaret A. “Marge” Baran; three sisters: Anna Kimak, Mary Ferjak, and Suzanne Kimak; and four brothers: Vasil, Michael, Stephen (Roma) and Michael (Frances).
Margaret was a loving wife, mother, godmother, aunt, friend and mom to many who had lost theirs. She enjoyed baking, cooking, fishing, bowling, hosting all the relatives on holidays, fixing anything mechanical, playing violin/bass fiddle/organ, doing word searches, and pulling April Fool's pranks. She was a wealth of wisdom and knowledge, gave of herself and brought joy and laughter to all. She worked for Corchran's Pump, owned/operated Circle Snack Shop in Hampton Park in the 60's with her husband, and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Annunciation Byzantine Catholic Church, formerly St. Mary’s Assumption Church. Most important of all, she loved Jesus! Peg will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A private celebration of Margaret’s life was held and she was laid to rest with her husband at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Lockport, IL.
