Marcella Mae Jacksa (nee Titus), age 94, entered into eternal life on June 3, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Marcella is survived by children Judith (Roger) Kovack, JoAnn (David) Egizio, Joseph (Mary) Jacksa, and James (Kristen) Jacksa; grandchildren, Kevin (Amelia) Kovack, Kristine (Robert) Kovack-Lesh, Laura (Joseph) Cabay, David (Victoria) Egizio, Jessica (Steven) Carlevato, James (Ashton) Jacksa, Anna (Matthew ) Grooms, and Jacob Jacksa; great-grandchildren, Clare and Vince Cabay, Alexandra and Andrew Lesh, Jackson and Cameron Carlevato, Charlotte Jacksa and Thomas Grooms; sister, Marilyn (Kenneth-deceased) McMillin, brother in law, Richard Jacksa and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Jacksa, her parents, Esner and Ruth (nee Paddock) Titus; siblings Edna (James) Madison, Marion (John) Williams, Florence Titus, Leonard (Virginia) Titus, Esner Titus Jr., Ralph Titus, Bernice Titus, Franklin Eugene Titus, Ruth Margaret (Duane) Dibble, Melvin Titus
Marcella grew up in Plainfield, IL and graduated Plainfield High School in 1947. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill. She was very involved in church activities teaching Catechism Classes and participating in the St. Ambrose Council of Catholic Women, where she was awarded Women of the Year. She was also a member of CECO Recreation Club in Coal City where she enjoyed camping and boating. She was an avid traveler, visiting various destinations throughout the country with her husband and children. Marcella’s love of life and family will continue on for generations to come.
Donations in Marcella’s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice, (Lightways Hospice) or St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill would be greatly appreciated.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tezak’s Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet. A Celebration of Marcella’s life will begin on Saturday, June 8, 2024 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 am and then driving in procession to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow immediately after mass at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Romeoville.
