Age 88, at rest on Monday, December 15, 2008 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center with family by his side. Born January 15, 1920.
Survived by his loving wife, Petra Perez; children, Ofelia Perez, Alicia Valadez, Victor (Esther), Jose (Lupe), Georgina Perez, Joel (Patricia), Frank, Virginia (Isidro) Velasquez, Estela (Henry) Wojtas, Rosalinda Sanchez; stepsons, David (Brenda), and Robert Lopez; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Joel; sisters, Beatriz Perez and Hope (Donato) Lopez.
Preceded in death by his parents; son, Epimenio; siblings, Esther Cornejo and Arturo Perez; grandchildren, Angelo, Diana Perez and Joshua Perez.
Manuel loved his wife's cooking. Manuel was an outdoorsman enjoying his many trips throughout the Joliet area, maintaining his yard and watching pro wrestling. On Sundays, Manuel enjoyed carnitas with his Pepsi. Manuel loved spending time with his grandchildren, many friends, and his dog, Teddy.
From where services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM to Our Lady of Mount Carmel for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment at
St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be on
Wednesday from 12-8 PM.
