Madeleine Chovan

Age 94 of Joliet, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born November 12, 1926 in Joliet, Madeleine was a daughter of Anton and Anna (Luksich) Culik. She was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Providence Catholic High School. Madeleine enjoyed cooking, baking and taking care of her home and family. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Ed to Florida and Arizona, as well as dining out and going to art shows. Madeleine was a devoted Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter: Jan LaRock; granddaughter: Madeleine (Brad Finkelstein) Kalen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Madeleine is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years: Edward R. Chovan in 1995; parents: Anton and Anna; brothers: James and Anthony Culik and sister: Maryann Sievert.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date and Madeleine will be laid to rest next to her husband Edward at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Joliet.
