”Cissy”

Lifelong resident of Joliet. Moved to Round O, South Carolina 2021. Cissy was a graduate of JTHS Central where she was an accomplished violinist and performed with both the high school and city orchestras. She enjoyed gardening and going to garage sales and thrift stores to find a bargain.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Madelyn (Rath) Baker and Lowel T. Brown; two sisters: Juanita (Brown) Schubert and Kathy Brown; two brothers: Earl Brown and Paul Brown; son-in-law: David Holland and brother-in-law: Lawrence Schubert.

Cissy is survived by her children: Dawn (Altiery) Mackak, John Altiery, Tom Altiery, Kelly (Altiery) Kerr and Maria (DelRose) Holland; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Debbie (Tom) Lee, Bobby (Meli) Brown and Barbara “Babs” Brown, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Baby.

Cissy will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Per Cissy’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until time of memorial service beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.
