At rest on Monday, January 5, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family and all those that loved him. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years Carolina Hernandez; children Diane, Paul, Nancy (John) Greenwalt, and Brian Hernandez; grandchildren Jessica, Lindsay, Kayla, Kelsey, Ian and Chelsea; and one brother Marcus ""Joe"" Hernandez. Louis was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving for 4 years. Retired from US Steel after 30 years of service.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009 from 3-8 PM. A Prayer Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday beginning at 9:30 AM to St. Patrick Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepluchre Cemetery.
