Lorraine M. Tezak, age 93, passed away on Saturday August 24, 2024 at home peacefully while surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Joseph Skuta and Theresa Skuta (nee Ligos) on August 15, 1931 in Joliet, IL.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of seventy-one years, Gerald P. Tezak. She was the mother of Lynn (Andrew) Orsini, Joanne (Scott) Rabenau, and Jeanette (Stephen) Miller, and the grandmother of Justin (Cecelia) Orsini, Katie (Emanuel) Munoz, Amanda (Preston) Poisel, Ally (Dustin) Kough, Ashlin and Gerald Miller. She will be sorely missed by her great-grandchildren Joseph, Henry, and Roland Orsini, Paitlynn, Madelynn, and Preston Poisel, and Colt Kough. Her brother Leonard (Jane) Skuta, sisters-in-law Nancy (Albert) Skuta and Inez (Ralph) Tezak as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Diane (in infancy), her son Gerald J. Tezak, as well as her brothers Joseph and Albert and her sister Theresa.
Lorraine was a lifelong resident of Joliet. She was a devout Catholic, who always put her family first. She was known as a person who was always willing to speak her mind, to which many of her loved ones can attest. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to offer a special note of thanks to the entire staff at Lightways Hospice Program here in Joliet for all of their loving support and understanding along the way.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will take place at St. Joseph Church, 416 N. Chicago St. Joliet, IL on Wednesday August 28, 2024 from 9:30 am – 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately at 10:30 am. Following Mass, we will process to Lorraine’s final resting place at St. Joseph Cemetery on N. Raynor Ave. Joliet, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations be offered in Lorraine’s name to Lightways Hospice Care in Joliet.
