Lorraine M. Pomykala Brown (nee Jenco), age 88, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 with her loving family by her side.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Patricia (Charles) O’Connor, Stephen (Dorothy) Pomykala, and step-daughter, Theresa (Tom) Usrey; grandchildren, Kristin (Erik Randall) Pomykala and Heather (Tim) Christensen; great-grandchildren, Sofie, Sigrun, Eddie, Heath and Warden; sisters, Mary Krasovic and Jeanie Page; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Stephen L. Pomykala; second husband, Lawrence W. Brown; grandson, Michael S. Pomykala; parents, Andrew and Mary Jenco; and numerous siblings.
Lorraine was a lifelong resident of Crest Hill, Illinois. She was a kind-hearted woman and a caregiver to many. She would happily open her home to anyone in need. Lorraine enjoyed yard maintenance and keeping her street clean. She enjoyed playing BINGO, reading, dancing and ran a youth center when her children were younger. She was an advocate for animals and loved taking in stray pets. Lorraine was an extremely generous woman and a friend to everyone and anyone. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Lorraine’s life will begin on Friday, September 1, 2017 with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the prayer service at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel then driving in procession to St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, IL. A visitation will be held at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road – Joliet, IL) on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
