Lorraine J. Kolenc (nee Zobel), age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2016.
Lorraine is survived by sister, Evelyn (the late Larry) Hile; brother-in-law, Frank (the late Vivian) Govednik; daughter-in-law, Gloria (the late Joseph) Kolenc; nieces and nephews, Frank J. Govednik, Gary (Gayle) Govednik, Carolyn (Lloyd) Toledo, Louise (Tom) Ossinger, Larry (Barbara) Hile, Laura (Mark) Modawell, Clifford, Michael and Steven Hile.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph C. Kolenc (1999); sons, James L. Kolenc and Joseph S. Kolenc; parents, Stanley and Jeanette (nee Sowinski) Zobel; and sister, Vivian Govednik.
Lorraine was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Joliet. She was employed at Messenger. Lorraine enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family as well as gardening and knitting.
A special thank you to Lorraine’s caregivers, Dorothy Mazur and Janina Bey; physicians, Sergei Kravets, Jason Suh and Joseph Baron as well as the staff at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine’s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Holy Cross Catholic Church would be appreciated.
A celebration of Lorraine’s life will begin on Friday, April 22, 2016 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. then driving in procession to Holy Cross Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet.
