Age 83, at rest at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center on January 26, 2009. Survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Albert; children Donna (Alan) Chesko, Alan (Karen) from PA., David (Hilda), Kolleen (David) Cherry; grandchildren Alan Chesko, Jr., Christiann (Rob) Scarafia, Melinda Kernc, Ryan (Jamie) Kernc, Madison Cherry and Jacob Kernc; step-granddaughter Dana Lipson; seven great-grandchildren; her brother Ralph Wedic; niece Sharon Wedic; and one uncle Clarence Wedic. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and her special caregiver Mattie Antee. Preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Rose (nee Batozech) Wedic. Lorraine was born on November 30, 1925 in Joliet where she lived her entire life. She met with her best girlfriends every month since graduating from Providence High School in 1944. She was active in the community: a member of St. Ann"s Parish, President of Northwest Recreation Club, a member of Chaney PTO, Band Parents and Ladies of the Lions Club of Crest Hill. She loved making and teaching ceramics for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Anne"s Church 1702 N. Dearborn St. Crest Hill, IL 60403 in Lorraine"s memory would be appreciated.
From where services will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 9:30 AM to St. Anne Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-7 PM.
