Lois M. Kiep, age 86, Wednesday, July 31, 2024 died peacefully at her home in San Francisco, CA.

Survived by her devoted children, Geraldine (James) Sangiacomo, Robert P. (Sigrid) Kiep III, and Jill (Bradley) Stinn. She was the cherished “Nonie” to her beloved grandchildren, Christina (Derek) McDonald, Natalie (Kevin) Cunningham, Stefano and Isabella Sangiacomo, Madeline and Gretchen Kiep, Sarah (Daniel) Nardolillo, Jack and Nicholas Stinn, who share the best memories of their grandmother laughing and joking around with them, always ready to support her grandchildren’s activities– or indulge in dessert with them. Lois was the adored “Lolo” to her beautiful great-grandchildren, Luke McDonald, Giacomo Cunningham, Charlie and Beau Nardolillo. Lois loved her sister-in-law, Barbara A. “Boots” Rasmussen, like a sister. They were “Frick & Frack.” She spent many Sunday night dinners and special times with her nieces, Judith Ann Connelly and Jennifer Turkos; and her nephew, J.P. Rasmussen and their families. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Robert P. Kiep; and her beloved parents, Jerry and Josephine, nee Rink, Grinchuck. Born in Joliet, IL, Lois grew up in Braidwood, IL, and was a resident of Joliet until 2023 when she moved to San Francisco. CA. She graduated from St. Francis Academy and Mount Mary College. Lois loved to cook and was a gracious hostess. She was a wonderful gardener and a devout Catholic. She served as an Associate of Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate and donated her time and talent to many charities in Joliet through the years. Lois helped countless people celebrate their weddings and other events as owner of Flowers by Kiep & Casperson. Lois loved her family and friends unconditionally, without measure.
