Lisa E. Gallegos

Lisa Eve Gallegos, age 54, passed away suddenly in her home, on Monday, October 19, 2015. Lisa was born on November 1, 1960 in Joliet to William and Aurora (nee Lopez) Gallegos.

Lisa attended Joliet East High School and was a lifelong resident of Joliet. She worked as a waitress and loved striking up conversations with customers. Lisa volunteered at various food banks as well as St. Bernard Catholic Church. She was a consummate mother and homemaker. A marvelous cook that loved to feed everyone. Lisa enjoyed spending time with her sister, family and friends laughing and dancing the night away. She was an incredible woman who adored her children and grandchildren and was a compassionate vibrant, unfailing warrior. Lisa Eve Gallegos will be forever remembered with love and laughter.

Lisa is survived by her three children, Vida, Bruce and Marisa; mother, Aurora; three sisters, Lucy, Lydia and Julie; brother, Ernest; life partner, Marvin Howard; four grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceded in death by her father, William Gallegos.

The family invites relatives and friends to gather at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Joliet on Saturday, October 24, 2015 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no funeral home visitation or services.
