Linda Kay Teilhet (nee Campbell), age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 7, 2019.
Linda is survived by her loving daughter, Diane (Jim) LaTurner; grandchildren, Rebecca, Ian, and Mitchell LaTurner; brother, Donald Arthur (Nell) Campbell; sister, Nancy (the late Lou) Kovach; half-brother, Jay (Gayle) Sunyogh; nieces and nephews, Steve (Carolyn) Kovach and Dan (Gail) Kovach, Richard (Joanne) Campbell and David Campbell; cousin, JoAnne Rodden-Almeida; great-niece, Katie (Daniel) Campbell; and great-nephew, Timothy (Heather) Kovach.
Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Teilhet; parents, Donald and Pearl (nee Bell) Campbell; and step-father, Joseph Sunyogh.
Linda grew up Lee Vining, CA and graduated from Pasadena City College as a Dental Assistant. While working as a Dental Assistant, Linda obtained degrees from USC and UCLA. She became a Dental Assistant Instructor at Pasadena City College where she remained for over 30 years. During her career, Linda achieved great relationships and meaningful friendships with many of her students. Linda was also a member of the American Dental Assistants Association. “She was a teacher who always believed in me, the one who made me a better person.”

Linda met the love of her life, Tom Teilhet in Lee Vining, CA in their early childhood. They were reunited while Linda was working as a dental assistant and Tom returned home from the Navy, then married in 1962. Tom and Linda resided in Arcadia, CA and created a homestead and a family. A great part of family vacations were spent in June Lake, CA, Lee Vining, CA and the Sierra Nevada Mountains where they enjoyed, flying, canoeing, and fishing. Linda always made sure to capture the moment with a classic photo. She was an avid dog lover. Linda had a smile that could light up a room; she was a woman of grace, strength, and care, making friends wherever she visited. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Attending every soccer game, choir performance, volleyball game or school musical brought her great joy. Linda was known as Mom to so many of Diane’s friends growing up, and this was a result of the unconditional love that she shed upon so many.
A celebration of Linda’s life will begin on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. The family invites relatives and friends to gather at the cemetery at 12:30 p.m. for a committal service followed by a Celebration of Life Service at The Sanctuary Church, 1251 Windham Pkwy, Romeoville, IL 60446 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitation hours will be on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Tezak Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Flowers may be sent to the funeral home for the visitation on Sunday, March 10, 2019.
