Linda Kay Briel

Linda Kay Briel, a lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away at the age of 79 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox on October 5, 2024. Linda was born to Joseph W. Briel and Dorothy J. Briel (nee Sonnenberg) in Joliet on April 4, 1945. 

Linda was a proud union employee for over thirty years, and committed most of her remaining time and effort caring and providing for her beloved daughter Jodine. She was passionate about all living things, and spending time with animals brought her great joy. In her free time, she always loved camping, fishing, and cooking for her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy and father Joseph, her brother William, as well as her grandmother Katherine Sonnenberg and grandfather William Sonnenberg.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Jodine Briel, her “daughter #2” Jenni Adamson, her stepbrother Jon Briel, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Linda will be inurned at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery, 601 Caton Farm Rd. Crest Hill, IL in her family plot on Saturday October 12, 2024. A Committal Service will be held in the cemetery chapel at 10:30 am.
