Linda Marie (Lindblom) Babich

Linda Marie Babich (nee Lindblom), age 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.

Linda is survived by her loving children, Kari (Bill) Bavirsha and Craig Babich; grandchildren, Katie and Brandon Bavirsha; cousins, William (Marlene) Greiner, Thomas (Patty) Edson, Marcia Kadela, Stacy Connelly and Lisa (Brian) Winkleman; nephews, Peter and Anthony Babich; and sister-in-law, Helen (the late Willie) Babich.

Preceded in death by her husband, Richard Babich (2010); parents, Leonard and Irene (nee Bridel) Lindblom.

Linda was a lifelong resident of Joliet and graduated from Joliet West High School. She went on to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University. Linda taught 2nd grade at Troy Craughwell School for her entire career. Linda was a lifelong member of Theodore Street Lutheran Church in Crest Hill. One of her greatest joys was visiting her lake house in Minnesota, going on boat rides and watching the sunset over the lake. She will be dearly missed by her family and many close personal friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family would be appreciated.

The family would like to invite relative and friends to gather on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church (353 N Midland Ave, Joliet, IL 60435) in Joliet from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service to be held at 10:00 .a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
