Lillian F. (Santoro) Walsh

August 31, 1930 — April 8, 2013

Lillian F. Walsh (Santoro), age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2013 with her loving family by her side.

Lillian was born in Chicago and graduated from Kelly High School in 1949. She married John "Jack" Walsh on November 24, 1951. Lillian moved to Joliet in 1956 where she was active in the St. Mary Magdalene and the Illinois State Police Women's Guilds and later worked at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Taft School and in retail. For the last 30 years Lillian and Jack divided their time between Florida, Arizona, and their most recent home in Braidwood, IL.

She is survived by her loving husband Jack; two children Laura (Jack) Dolehide and Dale (Liz) Walsh; daughter-in-law Cynthia Walsh; her grandchildren Shelly (Rob Jr.) Andreina, Anna Walsh, John, Colleen, Kelly, Erin, Patrick, Brigid, Caitrin, Brendan, Liam Dolehide, Ricky, Nicole, Dru, Kaitlin Walsh; four great-grandchildren; brother Frank (Sandy) Santoro; sister Mary Lou (Dale) Garland; her in-laws Donald (late Karen) Brazeal, Tom (Kathy) Reidy, Gary (Rose) Walsh; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends also survive.

Preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lillian (McGraw) Santoro; her sister Katherine Kampfert; and her loving son Wayne Walsh.

Donations may be made in Lillian's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or the Disabled Veterans.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Doctor John Walsh and the physicians and staff at St. Joseph Medical Center.

A Celebration of Lillian's life will begin on Saturday, April 13, 2013 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. and then driving in procession to St. Jude Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:15 p.m. at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life.
