Lillian Helen (Olszta) Surges

Lillian Helen Surges (nee Olszta), age 83, peacefully at rest on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, comforted by her loving family.

Lillian is survived by her children, Therese Surges, Bobby (Donna) Surges, Michael (Kim) Surges, and Mary (Bob) Furst; grandchildren, Trevor (Lee) Surges, Nicholas Surges, Matthew Surges, Connor Surges and Ashley Surges; siblings, Edwin (Annie) Olszta, Dorothy Vangor and Margaret “Monnie” Neff; Niece, JoAnn (Bill) Spreitzer and children, Jill and Jodi; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Surges (2008); parents, Anthony and Antonina (nee Derkowski) Olszta; and numerous siblings.

Lillian was a member of St. Thaddeus Catholic Church in Joliet and later St. Bernard Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Lillian enjoyed her family and also enjoyed gardening, flowers, mystery books and movies. She will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, having a Mass said in Lillian’s name would be greatly appreciated.

A celebration of Lillian’s life will begin on Friday, February 10, 2017. The family invites relatives and friends to gather at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Joliet.

There will be no funeral home visitation or services.
