Lilia M. Munoz (nee Molina) age 92, died peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 13,1922, in Alice, TX to the late Luciano and Martina (nee Chapa) Molina. Lilia is survived by her loving daughters, Eloisa (Emilio) Abeyta of Lubbock, TX, Gloria (Albert) Barajas of Aurora IL, Alicia (fiancé, Jose Martinez), Nino, and Anne (fiancé, Jesse Pena) Camacho; adored sons, Rene (Judy), Ruben (Claudia), Jose (Rosie) of Houston, TX, and Raul (Julie) Munoz; numerous beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Noelia Spentzos of Corpus Christi, TX, Connie Robles of San Antonio, TX, Nora Morales of Houston, TX; dearest friend, Angelina Nino; and loving niece, Stella Ruiz of Aurora, IL; devoted goddaughters, Rose Juarez and Estella Figuora; and daughters-in-law, Mary Juarez Munoz and Rachel Hernandez Munoz.

Preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Juan R. Munoz; sons, Ernesto in infancy, Eulalio Munoz, Juan Munoz Jr. (Ese), and Ricardo Munoz; brothers, Jose, Lupe, and Raul Molina; and sisters, Zoila Paez, Maria Aguirre, Anita Enriquez, and Celia Perez; granddaughters, Melissa Anne Camacho and Eloisita Gonzalez (in infancy).

A special thank you to Joliet Area Community Hospice, especially Susan Schnukel and Terry Gallagher; the entire staff at Sunny Hill Nursing Home and 5th Avenue for the care and kindness they provided to our mother; Nurses, Heather Schoolcraft, Teresa Daniels, Eric Washington, Lori Hilliard, and Alice Metcalf; Special Angels, Christina Guzman, Graciela Duarte, Sandra Taran, Ning Noraga, and Latoya Martin.

In lieu of flowers donations in Lilia's name to Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.

A Celebration of Lilia M. Munoz's life will begin on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:10 a.m. then driving in procession to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 205 East Jackson Street, Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
