Age 78, of Plainfield, passed away at his residence September 17, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born April 14, 1930 in Annetta, KY. Veteran of the United States Navy. He was proud to be a Purple Heart Recipient. He retired from Local #75 Laborers Union.
Survived by his loving family, Marie Willis (nee Gentile) of Plainfield, Leslie Willis Jr. ""Skeeter"" (Amy) of Iowa, Sam Nelson of Plainfield, Matthew (Renee') Willis of Crest Hill, Leslie Willis ""Little Bit"" of Plainfield, Charles Willis of Joliet; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; five brothers, James ""Pete"" (Shirley) Willis of Decatur, Robert ""RA"" (Jean) Willis of Godley, Roy (Dolores) Willis of KS, Danny (Beverly) Willis of Seneca, Gary (Karen) Willis of Channahon; three sisters, Maxine (late Howard) Decker of Ohio, Ferena (late Clarence) Blottiaux of Godley and Betty Harden of South Carolina; Les also left behind his wonderful dog, ""Happy.""
Preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Stella (nee Lashley) Willis; two brothers, Rudolph (Marguerite) Willis and Coy (Ernie Marie) Willis.
From where services will be held on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 10:30 AM to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for Full Military Honors at 11:30 AM. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-5 PM.
