Leonard J. “Lenny” Roesel, age 74, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017.
Leonard is survived by his loving children, George (Staci) Roesel and Veronica (John Smolkovich) Frederick; grandchildren, Jesse (Megan) Roesel, Edward (Kate) Roesel, Christina (Andrew) Duplessis and Emily (Jose) Maldonado, Jessoni (Kyle) Austin, Jenna (Matthew) Farcus, Stephen (Jane) Frederick, and Kaitlyn Frederick, 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Roesel and his former wife, Ruth Poulos. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, George & Sophie (nee Luchik) Roesel; brother, Gerald Roesel and sister, Karen (late Ed) Levandowski;
Lenny attended St. Joseph School in Rockdale and Joliet Central High School. He was employed as a truck driver, Teamsters Local #179 for thirty-three years, retiring in 2003. He retired to Arkansas where he loved to fish and hunt.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Rosewood Nursing Care Center and Joliet Area Community Hospice.
A celebration of Leonard J. “Lenny” Roesel’s life will begin on Saturday, November 25, 2017 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet, IL.
