Kent Craig Sullivan, age 59, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 26, 2023 while being lovingly cared for by his wife Sandi.
Kent was born in Lake Worth, TX on September 20, 1964. He grew up in Mayflower, Arkansas, where he first laid eyes on Sandi while riding that old Cato Bus in second grade and developed a lifelong love for her. After parting ways before graduating high school, they were finally brought together in marriage in 2015.
Kent had a great love for the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. There wasn’t a body of water in Mayflower that Kent had not fished at one time or another. Often walking all over the tiny town from a very young age, in search of the perfect fishing hole.
Kent joined the United States Army after high school. He finished basic training as an Expert Marksman and completed his AIT training as a Combat Engineer at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
Kent had a great love for children, older folks, and animals. He was a doting father, grandfather, stepfather, a very respectful son, a devoted husband, the best brother, a cherished nephew and cousin and a great friend.
Preceded in death by his father, Charles Frank “Bill” Sullivan of Mayflower, AR; maternal grandparents, Caroll Camp and Lois Margaritte “Maggie” Adams of Mayflower, AR; and his brother-in-law and best friend, Micky Leman Parnell of Mountain Home, AR.
Survived by his wife, Sandra (nee Ellis) Sullivan; mother, Carol Elizabeth (Adams) Sullivan of Vilonia, AR; two sons, Michael (Chelsea) Hall of Scott Air Force Base, IL and Jacob Sullivan of Churchville, PA; four daughters, Danielle Sullivan of Quakertown, PA, Jade (Jorge) Juarez of Perkasie, PA, Ashley Clement and Abbey Clement of Joliet, IL; his adored grandchildren, Angelo, Jazmin, Angeline, Hunter and Cooper; five brothers, Keith (Marsha) Sullivan of Yellville, AR, Kenny (Nancy) Sullivan of Morrilton, AR, Kelly (Jamie) Sullivan of Quitman, AR, Kevin (Gwen) Sullivan of Greenbriar, AR and Kerry (Miranda) Sullivan of Conway, AR; and one sister, Sherry (James) Campbell of Cabot, AR. Also surviving is an abundance of adoring Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, and in-laws including, Susan (Ellis) Parnell of Mountain Home, AR; and many lifelong friends including, David Lacy, Jim Delashmit, Joe Sands, Robert “Pete” Cook, Chris Green and Paul Lawrence.
Kent would at times attend services with Sandi at Gospel Life Church in Joliet, where she has been a longtime member.
Kent will be greatly missed by all who ever had the pleasure of knowing him. His big warm smile, giving heart and willingness to help anyone in need will leave a huge void in this world.
Per Kent’s wishes cremation rites have been respectfully accorded. No services will be held.
