Kelly D. Martin

Kelly D. Martin, age 57, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, August 7, 2017.

Kelly is survived by his son, Kraig (Jenna) Martin; grandchildren, Kendall and Kaycee Martin; former spouse, Karla Martin; siblings, Kerry (Connie) Martin, Kenny (Theresa) Martin, Kamelia (Jeff) Oneth, Kori Thorpe, and Kim (Tony) Wyles; numerous nieces and nephews; and father-in-law and good friend, Donald Konjevich also survive.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Katie Martin; mother, Nancy Thorpe; sister, Krystal Reider; and former mother-in-law, Nannette Konjevich.

Kelly was born in Denver, Colorado. He moved to Channahon in 1982 were he dedicated his life to raising his children and spending time with his grandchildren. Kelly enjoyed playing golf, cards, fishing and watching movies.  He was a dedicated employee for over 35 years at International Paper. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Kelly’s life will begin on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 with a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL) and on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of chapel service at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Kelly will be laid to rest in Willard Grove Cemetery in Channahon, IL.
